DISPLAY

The OnePlus display is dubbed ‘Fluid AMOLED,’ and it boasts a refresh rate of 90Hz rather than the standard 60Hz. We noticed smoother animation while watching TV and playing video games, as well as while navigating through online pages. After seeing the OnePlus 7 Pro at 90Hz, it’s difficult to go back to 60Hz — this is something that every phone should have.

7 Pro boasts a more conventional look and feel, as well as quicker hardware, a better camera, and better software.

The 19.5:9 aspect ratio on the OnePlus 7 Pro runs from top to bottom, making it simpler to be pulled into a fast-paced racing game on this screen. However, as previously said, its large dimensions make it unsuitable for those searching for a smaller phone.

DESIGN

It features the same thin black bezel screen outline, curved edges, and glass construction, with tapered edges that come to a small point, making the narrow frame simple to grab. Even if it requires two hands to operate comfortably, it’s difficult not to like holding this large phone. And OnePlus has provided a transparent plastic no-frills protection in the box if you’re worried about dropping it.

The OnePlus 7 Pro comes in two colors: glossy Mirror Gray and a more attractive Nebula Blue gradient in a matte finish, albeit, as previously said, your color option is determined on the storage/RAM combination you choose. The business will also release a glossy golden Almond color later this year, which appeared to be a stunning colour when we saw it.

The OnePlus 7 Pro lacks a 3.5mm headphone jack, which the company removed from the 6T last year and is unlikely to reinstate now that it has better Bullet Wireless 2 earbuds to sell. Wireless charging and a micro-SD card slot are also 0-for-10.

CAMERA

Its 48MP camera with an f/1.6 aperture leads the way, with more texture, less shadow, and somewhat warmer colors than the OnePlus phones from last year. Gone are the ghostly, murky photos of the past, in favor of brighter, crisper photos, especially in strong light

The 8MP f/2.4 telephoto lens has a 3x zoom range and optical image stabilization (OIS), making it ideal for photographing distant scenes. According to a Reddit sleuth, it’s really a 13MP lens with a 2.2x optical zoom and some creative cropping to bring it to the 3x finish line. Though Huawei P30 Pro 5x telephoto lens reigns supreme, it still takes you closer without digital distortion.

The OnePlus 7 Pro 16MP f/2.2 ultra-wide lens, on the other hand, has a 117-degree field of view, which we found great for landscape photographs but with soft edges.

PERFORMANCE

The powerful Snapdragon 855 processor provides a considerable bump in clock speed, as well as up to 12GB of RAM for a high ceiling. Running apps, downloading games, and viewing a movie all at the same time was no problem for us. However, the 8GB version of this phone should suffice for the vast majority of users. The OnePlus 7 Pro is a high-performance smartphone.

A 10-layer liquid cooling system underneath the glass hood extends the phone’s horsepower, while a new haptic vibration motor provides rapid input with unprecedented degrees of granularity. The improved RAM, cooling system, and vibrations all work together to make this a great gaming phone.

The OnePlus 7 Pro has one additional secret weapon: it’s the world’s first phone with UFS 3.0 storage. While OnePlus continues to exclude a microSD slot, the transfer rates from the massive internal storage alternatives are 20x quicker than those from the common external card type used by other Android phones.

BATTERY

The OnePlus 7 Pro has a large 4,000mAh battery that has been reliable enough to get us through a full day of moderate use. It was similar to our experience with the OnePlus 6T, which has a slightly smaller 3,700mAh battery but a 60Hz screen that is less striking.

The accompanying larger Warp Charge 30 adapter and cable carried us from 0% to 34% in 15 minutes, then to 60% in 30 minutes, and finally to 100% in 1 hour and 23 minutes. Regular USB-C adapters, on the other hand, gave much slower rates.
