Design and Display

To begin with, the OnePlus 9 Pro has a 6.7-inch AMOLED display with a QHD+ resolution. It’s a curved screen with a circular punch-hole cutout for the selfie camera on the left side. According to OnePlus, the curve has been optimized to minimize unintended touches while maintaining the display’s premium feel.

The Fluid Display 2.0 supports a 120Hz refresh rate and a 240Hz touch sampling rate, as predicted. For variable refresh rates, the company has chosen an LTPO panel this time.

This show, according to OnePlus, will dynamically vary between 1Hz and 120Hz depending on what’s on the computer. By lowering the refresh rate to just 1Hz, the phone would be able to save battery power while in use.

Performance and Memory

The Snapdragon 888 chipset is at the heart of the OnePlus 9 pro. It is Qualcomm most advanced chipset available right now. It has a tri-cluster CPU with a Cortex X1 “Prime Core” core running at 2.84GHz. There are three Cortex A78 “performance cores” and four Cortex A55 “efficiency cores” in the same way. It’s built on Samsung’s 5nm process and has a built-in 5G modem.

To keep the temperature of the system under control, OnePlus is relying on its new “Cool Play” technology. The five-layered cooling system, according to the manufacturer, will hold the unit up to a couple of degrees cooler after 20 minutes of gameplay than Samsung’s Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Although OnePlus has been known for its efficiency, its cameras have been criticized for their poor quality. With the newly confirmed alliance with Hasselblad, the organization hopes to change that. The collaboration would last three years, with OnePlus planning to spend $150 million during that period.

The OnePlus 9 Pro comes with four cameras on the back and one on the front. The 48MP Sony IMX789 sensor is the primary camera here, and according to OnePlus, it is 64 times more colorful than its predecessor. Users will be able to capture videos in 4K at 120 frames per second and 8K at 30 frames per second. Users will be able to record in 12-bit RAW format as well.

On the other hand, the ultrawide sensor is very similar to that of the Find X3 Pro. Both cameras feature a 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor and a freeform lens. The latter is said to minimize distortion, which is a problem for conventional smartphone lenses. A telephoto lens with a magnification of 3.3x is also included. A 2MP monochrome sensor makes up the fourth sensor.

A 4,500mAh battery powers the unit and supports 65W wired charging. It takes just 29 minutes to charge the battery from zero to 100 percent. The phone also supports 50W wireless charging, which can completely recharge the battery in just 43 minutes. In horizontal orientation, you can also charge your computer wirelessly.
