DESIGN

Midnight Black and Shimmer Blue are the two color options for the Vivo X60 Pro. With a thickness of just 7.59mm, the handset is incredibly thin. The slim design, curved screen, and satin-textured glass back panel combine to make this phone a pleasure to carry. The Vivo X60 Pro has a premium feel to it, and the textured power button just adds to that.

Although the X60 Pro does not have an official IP rating, there is a rubber gasket on the SIM tray, which indicates that Vivo has done some simple waterproofing to protect the handset. The unit is also extremely lightweight, weighing only 179 grams.

DISPLAY

At 6.56 inches, the panel is on the small side. It’s an AMOLED projector with a refresh rate of 120Hz and a resolution of 2376 x 1080 pixels. Although this can sound impressive, the device’s actual feel and usability are its greatest assets. Vivo has paid close attention to the phone’s feel, and it exudes luxury.

The included screen cover, however, is not luxurious. It has a rubbery texture to it, and it feels more like packing paper than a protector.

The panel is covered on both sides by Gorilla Glass 6, which should keep most scratches at bay. It is HDR10+ certified, resulting in improved visuals while gaming or watching movies. It’s still bright enough to read even in full daylight.

PERFORMANCE

In China, the Vivo X60 series came with Samsung’s Exynos 1080 5G chipset, but the foreign version comes with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870 SoC. In comparison to the Exynos 1080, it is a significantly faster chipset. The Vivo X60 has 8 or 12 Gb of Storage, which can be combined with either 128GB or 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.

The Vivo X60 Pro, on the other side, has only one memory specification: 12/256GB. Under heavy workloads, these phones can take up to 3GB of additional memory from the storage.

This technique is dubbed “Fusion Memory” by Vivo (roughly translated from Mandarin). Both devices will come pre-installed with Origin OS, which is built on Android 11.

CAMERA

Vivo’s X50 series of smartphones launched gimbal-like stabilization last year. However, given the camera’s consistency, the new feature is unlikely to have a significant effect. As a result, Vivo has collaborated with Zeiss for the X60 series’ lens technology. Zeiss previously collaborated with Nokia and Sony.

The primary camera on the Vivo X60 series is a 48MP Sony IMX598 sensor. The camera on the Pro model, on the other hand, has a wider aperture (f/1.48 > f/1.79) and a 7P lens. All other devices have Vivo’s 4-axis Optical Image Quality and a second-generation advanced motor for the lens adapter effect on the main camera.

A 13MP ultra-wide lens with a 120-degree Field of View is included. It can also act as a macro camera. A 13MP zoom lens lens with a 2x zoom capability is also included in the setup. The 8MP periscope camera is only available on the Pro edition, which has a 5x optical zoom capability. Both devices have a 32MP selfie camera on the front.

The Vivo X60 Pro shines brightest in the camera department. After all, the bold ‘Professional Photography’ inscription on the phone’s top, as well as the Zeiss partnership, must be justified.

Sure, it doesn’t have the fancy camera setup of the X60 Pro +, but it does have a few tricks up its sleeve. To begin with, the main 48 MP camera is equipped with Vivo’s Gimbal Stabilization 2.0. This is a game-changing system. Even when capturing a fast-moving subject, the videos from this phone are super-smooth, and the pictures have almost no blur.

BATTERY

The X60 Pro’s battery capacity of 4,200 mAh is a little smaller than most smartphones in this price range, but it’s adequate for everyday use. When conducting daily activities, it could easily last a day. When the intensity is turned up to maximum, the battery lasts a little over four hours and 30 minutes.

Fortunately, the Vivo X60 Pro charges quickly with the included 33 W adapter, taking about an hour and ten minutes from zero to maximum charge. This charging speed negates the need for a larger battery while still allowing this phone to have an extremely thin form factor. As a result, the sacrifice was well worth it.
