The SE versions of Apple have not had the same degree of consistency as the regular iPhone’s. The first iPhone SE was released in 2016, and the company took nearly four years to develop its successor. However, according to recent news, we might not have to wait quite as long for the next model. In addition, the forthcoming iPhone SE 3 is said to be significantly different from its predecessor.

DESIGN AND DISPLAY

According to reports, many of these problems will be addressed in the upcoming iPhone SE 3. To begin with, it will not be a newer iPhone with a faster processor. The next iPhone SE will have a fresh look. The iPhone SE 3 will have a 6.1-inch LCD panel, according to JP Morgan Chase’s review. It’s a major improvement over the previous model’s 4.7-inch display.

The iPhone SE 3 will not be the only iPhone with Touch ID in this market. People are required to wear face masks because of the COVID 19, which directly compromises the efficiency of Face ID. Apple is allegedly adding it to the upcoming iPhone 13 (or iPhone 12) lineup. Since the high-end phone will have OLED panels, it will be mounted underneath the screen.

CAMERA

Apple will use the same camera configuration as the iPhone 11 lineup in terms of photography. The iPhone SE 3 will feature a dual-camera system with a 12MP wide-angle camera and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera. Optical Image Stabilization will also be available on the rear camera (OIS). Of course, given that even the iPhone 11 only has a dual-lens camera, we shouldn’t expect anything more from the iPhone SE 3, but given that rivals like the OnePlus Nord and Moto G 5G Plus have four cameras on the back and two on the front, an extra lens or two shouldn’t be too much to ask for.

5G

No present iPhone supports 5G at the time of publishing. That will most likely change with the release of the iPhone 12, but we really hope Apple lets the technology trickle down to the iPhone SE 3, as it’s already on some of the SE (2020)’s main competitors, including the OnePlus Nord and Moto G 5G Plus, and Google has reported that a Pixel 4a 5G is on the way.

REFRESH RATE

A fast refresh rate is now another feature provided by a range of competitors. The iPhone SE (2020) has a 60Hz refresh rate, which was previously the norm for all handsets except gaming phones, but now a range of mainstream models have 90Hz or 120Hz refresh rates.

It’s a feature that some of the iPhone 12 models will likely have, but we don’t think it’ll make it to the iPhone SE 3. Because no current iPhones have high refresh rates, Apple is likely to retain the technology as a premium feature for the time being.

But it would be fantastic if Apple made this a normal feature – it could still set itself apart by offering its flagships a refresh rate of 120Hz (or higher) and the iPhone SE 3 a refresh rate of 90Hz.

BATTERY

The iPhone SE (2020) has a tiny 1,821mAh battery, which might seem adequate considering the phone’s small size, but we found it to be insufficient, lasting just about a day.

That’s not bad, but it’s definitely not spectacular, so we’d like to see much more from the iPhone SE 3’s battery, whether that’s accomplished by growing its size or improving its performance.
